Dallas

dallas city image

The urban metropolis is known for its museums and art centers that showcase thought provoking and timeless art pieces from talented artists around the globe. Dallas, the commercial and cultural center of Texas, is the 2nd largest city in the state and the eighth largest in the US.

Apart from the big things that happen here, Dallas is home to some of the best names in dental industry. And since it offers so many good options to choose from, it often gets hard to find the best pick. That’s why a local magazine in Dallas asked dentists to rate their peers; through a confidential poll and thorough investigation, they rounded up the city’s best dentists in this list.

Another local dentist in Dallas appeared in the Culture Map Magazine for changing the life of a person with his restorative practice. The dentist narrates in this article how he treated a patient as a part of a charity program and not only gave her a new smile but changed her life entirely.

If a visit to the dentist’s office makes you anxious, a dentist in Dallas offers just what you need: anti-anxiety treatment by her adorable poodle. The dentist made news everywhere when she started training her dog to relax patients who sit in the dental chair and are undergoing treatment.

Apart from the quality of service and their innovative practices, Dallas dentists are also known for their philanthropic efforts. A city where finding low cost dental care is a challenge for senior citizens, a free dental clinic run by North Dallas Shared Ministries brings hope for many baby boomers. The clinic is staffed by faculty and fourth-year students from Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry and dental assistant students from Concorde Career College in Dallas.

Another program in the city, the Parkland Homeless Outreach Medical Services aims to give the less fortunate access to preventive medical care so they don’t end up in emergency rooms. The program which was initially only providing health services in their mobile health clinics is now trying out their system of care with dentists and psychologists.

However, if you’re planning to pursue a career in dentistry, the city of Dallas offers many exciting opportunities for you. For one, it is home to one of the best dental universities in the state of Texas, the Texas A & M Health Center Baylor College of dentistry. In case if you don’t want to pursue a 4 year degree program, you can easily take up a course in dental hygiene or dental assistance at one of the many dental schools located in Dallas.
